Christmas Gifts

Christmas Gifts

What do you know about Christmas? Is it enough to know why everyone gives each other presents mainly to friends and family on this special day (December 25th)

Christmas Day is a holiday observed mostly on December 25th to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. So in celebration for his arrival we give gifts just like the three wise kings did when our lord was just a baby in his manger.

This festive time will see homes decorated with tinsel and decorations, and a Christmas tree is traditionally put up and decorated with fairy lights and baubles to mark the occasion. Also a time to feast and fill your belly with Christmas dinner cooked as if it fit for a king to eat

Types of Xmas gifts you wrap and put underneath the tree will vary purely because of who the presents are for. If children are involved then they are likely led to believe that Santa Claus, or if you prefer Father Christmas, put them there.

Other activities included with this festive period is having fun at parties and being jolly, and if the seasons are good, have snow to go sleighing in with the kids.

Around the world, Christmas celebrations can vary in form, reflecting differing cultural and national traditions. Countries such as Japan and Korea, where Christmas is popular even though there are only a small number of Christians, have adopted many of the aspects of Christmas, such as gift-giving, decorations and Christmas trees.

Christmas is a fabulous time for children who believe in Santa Claus and his elves and reindeer’s. It is all so real when they run down stairs on Christmas morning to find their stockings jam packed full of Christmas gifts. Then they start unwrapping them, their faces are a picture, especially if the gift they have unwrapped is a Xmas toy they put in their letter to Father Christmas.

Christmas is a time when we receive carol singers at our doors and people attend midnight mass. Spending quality time together with our families at Christmas time is a special occasion each and every year, and everybody has a laugh and joke together, with the giving and receiving of gifts and stuffing our bellies with turkey, followed by Christmas pudding and cream.

Lots of people traditionally used to spend time around the piano having a good old sing song together, mainly singing carols. Or, songs like “Chestnuts roasting by an open fire”. If you love tradition and someone can play the piano then it’s worth considering buying one to get into the Christmas spirit.

Happy Christmas and might your wish of receiving the best ever Christmas gift come true for you this year.

Valentines Day

Valentines Day

Valentines Day, February 14th is a day for couples to show their other half how much they love and care for them; it is traditional on this day for couples to send a valentines card to the one they love, giving flowers or chocolates, it doesn’t have to mean you have to be in a relationship to send or receive a valentines card, some people send cards to people they admire or have a crush on and the other person is blissfully unaware of their feelings. They send them anonymously via post not signed so they don’t know who has sent them the valentine’s card.Lots of lovers write verses or poems in their lover’s valentine’s card for sentimental reasons and some times rude  poems for fun. Here are a few for you to read and you could also use in a lovers valentines card this year to spice things up and let you’re valentine know exactly how you feel about them.

Roses are red

Violets are blue

I love you

Will you love me too?

I love you, I love you,

I love you almighty I wish my pyjamas

Were next to your nightie

Now don’t be mistaken

Don’t be misled

I mean on the washing line

Not in the bed.

I’m going to wrap myself in paper

I’m going to stick myself with glue

I’m going to tie a big red bow on me

And mail myself to you.

If I go to heaven and your not there

I’ll paint your name on the golden stair

If your not there by judgement day

I’ll know you’ve gone the other way

But just to prove my love is true

I’ll go to hell to be with you.

Roses are red

Violets are blue

Sugar is sweet

And so are you.

A ring is round

It has no end

To be your wife

I do intend.

You’re charming and disarming

Desirable and true

You inspire and impress me

That’s why I love you.

Now you have written the valentines card out with the poems or verses in, your next quest is to make sure you’re lover has the most special valentines day of his/her life and enjoys every moment of it.

What is your plan for this year maybe a meal, a romantic night in or a gift?

What ever you decide always make sure you spend lots of time telling your partner/spouse how you feel, make them feel special so he/she enjoys every moment and brag’s to their friends for a long time to come.

Babies toys

Babies toys

Babies toys are great for stimulating their mind and also teaching them lots of information, Babies toys which they will use more as they are growing are a good start in life because they remember a lot as they are growing, just a shame us parents have lost ours since having kids and fitting so much  into our schedules.

There are lots of choice in babies toys for our kids out now and so many new ones coming out regularly. When buying new toys forbabies or older children we should always ensure they are age appropriate and always have the safety kite mark.

For newborn babies the best baby’s toys and comfort friends are the cuddly teddy bear also lots of bright, colourful and musical toys, a soft chewable teething rattle as it soothes the baby’s gums and also stimulates play. Also cot mobiles with lots of soothing lights and sounds to help baby drift of to sleep.

For 0 to 6 months

Play mat’s are great because they are soft so a newborn baby can lay on it, also as they get bigger they can learn and play with the flaps that make a crunch noise and mirrors which baby loves to play peek a boo, also noisy rattles keep them amused for hours.

6 to 12 months

Once baby reaches this stage in life they begin to be aware of there favourite fluffy toy or blanket and know when they haven’t got this with them. Toys for fun at this stage can be Learning and activity toys that are usually small enough for a little baby to grasp hold of, or if the child is older can have fun while furthering their education unbeknown to them. You should consider walker toys which are loved by all children especially when they feel so proud when they move it and begin to walk

1 to 2 years

Any toy that a child can pull or can press buttons that make a noise, toy telephones are good also building blocks can help with babies imagination, tiny soft bodied dolls are great too any toy which helps baby to learn are great including colouring and arts and crafts are ideal for babies imagination.

2 to 3 years

Bikes and scooters are wonderful for children of this age group as they can go out more and enjoy the fresh air learning to ride their bikes, and learn how to keep their balance on scooters plus it teaches them road safety at the same time, and not talking to strangers this is a big learning process for children and they love to learn. That’s why they are always asking questions to gain more information before they proceed on to nursery school.

3 to 5 years

Where did those years go, your precious baby is no longer a baby they are children now and ready to go off to nursery then Pre School. But the best toys will be the characters they watch and see on television e. g. Winnie the pooh, in the night garden, Dora or Diego. Any item that keeps your child’s mind active at this age will be a god send for both child and parent.

Always ensure when a child has a toy that there are no small parts that could harm or be a choking hazard. But even so always ensure that an appropriate adult can watch at all times just in case any accident does occur.

Gifts For Men & Women

Gifts For Men & Women

Men – Most women find buying gifts for men quite easy, but if you find yourself stumped as to what you can get a man for a birthday gift or a Christmas present then you could try some of the following which I am sure he would be pleased to receive.A paint balling experience could be an ideal gift, when you get a guy this gift it is usually for a group experience so he could invite a   few friends with him, and have a lad’s day out you know how men love male bonding, and then afterwards maybe go for a pint and a bite to eat with them.

Then there is a computer as a gift because all men love to play on computers and battle it out, even with children playing against them they hate losing any game no matter who they come up against they are sore losers.

If your man likes to stay in shape and workout a lot then you could buy him some weights or an exercise machine, also if he is a member at a gym where you have to pay a yearly fee for the membership, if he has this equipment at home you would save money in the long run and he would be home more often rather than in the gym.

Does he have a favourite band he listens to? Then a cd disc that he can put on in the car or in the home, and sing away till his hearts content as long as you’re not in the car, especially if he is tone deaf.

There are just a few ideas to buy your husband/boyfriend for a birthday or Xmas gift.

Women – A few suggestions for birthday or Xmas gifts for the lady in your life, because we all know how fussy us women and no man would want to disappoint his women on a special occasion. So here are some ideas to get you going.

Does your wife/girlfriend have a favourite perfume that she always loves to wear, and don’t be put off because you know her mum and aunt always get her this as a present because a women’s favourite perfume is a great gift whether she needs it or not, she can never have to much.

A great gift if your wife/girlfriend loves shoes and handbags then these would be super, women love there shoes and handbags. If your getting both then try to get both so they match and then if you are taking her out for a nice meal for the celebration then she can match them both to a nice outfit she will wear.

A piece of jewellery is always a must, women adore rings/bracelets and necklaces so with this you cannot go wrong I am sure.

Make-up is another nice present because make-up colours move on with the times and women always add at least some make-up when going out and about, and different choices of brands and colours to choose from would be a nice idea.

Does your lady like music some love songs on a cd disc I am sure she would like that it would also remind her of you both getting together maybe when those particular songs were released.

Just some suggestions that you men will find helpful, to buy a nice gift for your wife/girlfriend in your life that she will love for.
